Did Stoeger Buy Out Benelli?

Stoeger does not make any shotguns. It is an importer. The Stoeger 2000 is made by Vursan in Istambul, Turkey and uses the Benelli inertial bolt system (they are licensed to copy it). The 2000 is not as well finished as the Benelli, but with the recoil spring around the magazine instead of in the butt stock, it is easier to clean.
